“To be truly in balance,” says the View From the Country column in the September issue of Acres U.S.A. magazine, “we must thrive alongside the plants, fungi, animals and microbes that make up the scaffolding of our ecosystems.”
Health and nutrition are topics intrinsically tied to farming and ranching, particularly the regenerative and organic side. With that in mind, here are just 3 of the ways that you can learn about human health and nutrition through Acres U.S.A. today:
1 – Read About it on EcoFarming Daily
Our EcoFarming Daily website is a free resource for farmers offers hundreds of articles on all topics related to eco-agriculture.
One of our newest articles relating to human health and nutrition is Nutrition, Health and the Organic Farming Movement by Anneliese Abbott.
We also recommend checking out article on Growing Nutrient-Dense Crops by Leigh Glenn, and the article Human Wellbeing Can Only Happen With Healthy Soils by Jesse Emerson.

He currently runs a clinic in rural Virginia that focuses on plant-based nutrition and holistic health. He’s an entrepreneur with a mind-boggling array of projects to his resume, including Farmers Footprint, a nonprofit that aims to transition 5 million acres to regenerative practices by 2025.
On one of our most popular Tractor Time podcast episodes, Dr. Zach Bush talks about how he believes that regenerative agriculture can save the world by creating healthy soils that will sequester carbon, reverse climate change, produce highly nutritious food and create healthy humans.
3 – Read Fred Provenza’s Book
Fred Provenza is professor emeritus of Behavioral Ecology in the Department of Wildland Resources at Utah State University. At Utah State, Provenza directed an award-winning research group that pioneered an understanding of how learning influences foraging behavior and how behavior links soils and plants with herbivores and humans.
